HTC One M8 headed exclusively to Verizon in Glamour Red avatar?
Alexandra BurlacuThe recently launched HTC One M8 powerhouse is reportedly headed to Verizon Wireless in a red avatar, set to arrive as an exclusive color option for the carrier.
The Red HTC One M8 will reportedly hit Verizon's network sometime in the near future, offering customers a bold color choice for the new HTC powerhouse. The smartphone is HTC's latest flagship for 2014 and it boasts high-end specs and features, sporting notable improvements over its predecessor. It is among the top contenders in the highly-competitive smartphone market and HTC is apparently trying to attract potential buyers to specific operators by offering exclusive variants of its One M8.
Just recently we heard news that the Sprint version of the HTC One M8 would feature Harman/ Kardon speakers, as opposed to the standard BoomSound speakers found on the rest of the variants. If the latest rumor is to be believed, Verizon Wireless will have the exclusive rights to sell the Red version of the HTC One M8 in the U.S.
The news comes from well-known and trusted tipster @evleaks, who has proved to be accurate countless times in the past with leaks of unannounced devices and plans in the tech world. Evleaks didn't offer any additional details regarding the purported launch date, nor provided any image of this Glamour Red HTC One M8 for Verizon.
The original HTC One, the company's flagship smartphone from last year, came in a Glamour Red variant as well, but that was only available on Sprint. With Sprint now grabbing the exclusive on the Harman/ Kardon speakers and Verizon apparently getting the red avatar of the smartphone, it remains to be seen whether AT&T and T-Mobile have something special planned for their customers as well.
As reliable as @evleaks has proved to be in the past, however, this information is still unconfirmed for now. HTC and Verizon may announce this new Glamour Red variant of the HTC One M8 in the coming weeks, but it is highly advisable to take this news with a grain of salt for now.
In separate news, HTC is also rumored to be working on a plastic variant of the HTC One M8 flagship. The upcoming version will reportedly sport no changes in specs and features, but will come at a significantly lower price point due to the plastic build. This variant isn't confirmed either, and the rumor may or may not prove to be accurate, so treat it accordingly.
