LG G3 one month away – Company issues event invites for May 27-28
Alexandra BurlacuThe LG G3 is likely just one month away, as the company has now sent out event invitations for May 27 and 28.
LG seems to be going global this time, as the company has issued event invites for no less than six cities across the world. San Francisco, New York, and London will be holding simultaneous events on May 27, while Seoul, Singapore, and Istanbul will follow the next day, on May 28.
The LG G3 is the last big flagship smartphone to debut this season and anticipation for the device has been building up for quite some time. The handset is expected to come rocking high-end specs and features, including a top-notch display with an incredible resolution.
While the invitation doesn't specifically name the LG G3, the company will most likely unveil its latest flagship at the event. LG had already confirmed in its earnings report for the first quarter that it will be launching its G3 in the second quarter of this year, and May was already rumored as the likely timeframe. The invites now confirm previous rumors and give specific dates for the product launch, although they don't spell it out.
"To be simple is to be great," reads the invite tagline, citing Ralph Waldo Emerson. The words are etched onto a dark background with a brush finish, which may indicate that the upcoming LG G3 may come with a premium metallic body.
The LG G3 is expected to boast a Quad HD (QHD) display with a whopping resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and join the current trend of offering a gold color option. Previous leaks have also indicated that the device will sport LG's rear key concept introduced with last year's LG G2, with the power and volume buttons placed on the back of the handset. The LG G3 should also boast very thin bezels on the front, maximizing the screen real estate.
While the company unveiled its LG G2 in August last year, it seems that LG is now rushing to take advantage of the Spring season, which has been so far dominated by Samsung and HTC.
None of the aforementioned LG G3 are officially confirmed for now, but it seems that we'll learn all about the new powerhouse as soon as next month. Stay tuned for more details as soon as they become available.
