HTC M8 Ace leaks again: New image, more detailed specs
Alexandra BurlacuThe purported HTC One (M8) Ace has leaked yet again, showing a beautiful design and offering more details in terms of specifications.
The HTC One (M8) Ace will reportedly launch as a new variant of the recently-released HTC One M8 flagship smartphone. This new handset is expected to have similar specifications to the flagship, but pack everything in a plastic build in order to accommodate a lower price tag.
Just last week a Chinese publication leaked some information and an image of the purported HTC One (M8) Ace, and the same source has now followed up with more juicy details and another image of the device.
According to the latest report from the same Chinese site ifanr, the HTC One (M8) Ace will sport a 5-inch full HD 1080p Super LCD 3 display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage capacity, and a microSD card slot for additional memory of up to 128GB. Other purported specs of the HTC One (M8) Ace include a 13-megapixel back-illuminated rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter. On the software side, the handset will run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, with HTC's own Sense 6.0 on top. A large 2,600 mAh battery will keep things up and running.
These purported HTC One (M8) Ace specs are very similar to the flagship HTC One M8's specifications. The two devices seem to pack the same processor, the same display, same amount of RAM, same software versions.
Based on the newly-leaked photo (see above), the HTC M8 Ace seems to have quite a similar design as well compared to the original flagship. The key difference, however, consists of the use of plastic instead of the more premium metal build. This will allow HTC to release its One (M8) Ace at a more affordable price point, launching it as a budget-friendly alternative to the top-notch HTC One M8.
Another difference will be in the camera department, but things remain a bit hazy at this point. The HTC M8 Ace in this new image seems to have dual cameras on its rear, just like the flagship, which suggests that it may come with a 13-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel secondary rear shooter for depth information.
This budget-friendly HTC One (M8) Ace is rumored to launch on June 3, sporting a sub-$500 price tag without a contract. The smartphone will reportedly hit China first, launching in red, blue, and black color options. Until HTC makes an official announcement, however, take everything with a grain of salt.
