Google Nexus 6 back in stock at Motorola, all versions up for grabs
Alexandra BurlacuThe Google Nexus 6 had serious trouble staying in stock since its launch, but it's now available for purchase directly from Motorola.
The Motorola-made Nexus 6 is the first phablet to join Google's Nexus lineup of devices and it rocks high-end specs and features all around. The handset stirred lots of interest since its debut and proved to be in such high demand that it barely stayed in stock, vanishing off store shelves in no time.
The Nexus 6 ran out of stock several times both on Google Play and Motorola's website, and even carrier availability has been sketchy. AT&T had to pull the Nexus 6 from inventory over some software bug, while Verizon Wireless didn't even bother to launch the device yet.
While the Nexus 6 has so far been elusive to say the least, Motorola now has the device in stock and ready to ship soon. The company is selling both the 32GB and the 64GB configurations in Cloud White or Midnight Blue color options. The 32GB model costs $649.99, while the larger-capacity 64GB variant goes up to $699.99.
As a reminder, the Google Nexus 6 made in collaboration with Motorola sports a massive 5.96-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, and 3GB of RAM to ensure it can handle whatever task you throw at it. Other specs include 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a 3,220 mAh battery, among the highlights. On the software side, the Nexus 6 comes with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop right out of the box, as it served as one of the launch vehicles for the new OS.
Motorola is offering free shipping with the Nexus 6, and estimates that it will ship orders on Jan. 6. Considering that the handset has gone in and out of stock so often since its launch, interested customers might want to make their purchase while Motorola still has the device in stock.
