Purported HTC One M9 images leak online – Is this the real deal?
Alexandra BurlacuThe much-rumored HTC One M9 is expected to make its debut soon and some newly-leaked images now claim to show the device.
After the resounding success of the HTC One M7 and the One M8, the 2015 HTC One M9 flagship smartphones is one of the most highly-anticipated devices expected to debut this year. Leaks and rumors surrounding the upcoming handset have already started to intensify as of late, and some even suggest that HTC may take the wraps off the device as soon as next week at CES 2015.
The purported HTC One M9 is now the star of a new leak, as some intriguing images have surfaced online, allegedly showing the device ahead of its official debut.
Based on rumors and speculation so far, the upcoming HTC One M9 is expected sport a 5-inch display, but it remains unclear at this point just what resolution it will have. While some reports have suggested the handset would join the QHD party and boast a high resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, as some flagships already do, other reports point to a full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The handset also appeared in benchmarks with a full HD display, so QHD fans may be disappointed after all.
Under the hood, the HTC One M9 is expected to pack a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB of RAM for a fast and fluid performance. HTC is also rumored to ditch its UltraPixel setup and equip its next-generation flagship with a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel front shooter. A 2,840 mAh battery will reportedly keep things up and running, while Android 5.0 Lollipop should handle things on the software side.
In terms of design, these newly-leaked images show a purported HTC One M9 that's very similar to its predecessor, and that's not a bad thing. The HTC One lineup received great praise for the premium look and quality build, so it would make sense for the company to stick to the highly-acclaimed design.
Keep in mind, however, that it's all based solely on leaks and speculation at this point, so a hefty grain of salt is recommended. We'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more, so stay tuned.
