Cortana to compete with Siri soon on iOS
Mary Cris BalancioIs Siri going to retire soon? That must have been one of the questions I think people have begun asking now. And if you ask why I came up with that question, the reason is because of Cortana. Yes Cortana, the new girl in town, the oh-so-clever personal assistant marketed by Windows.
Windows is said to be gearing up to let iPhone users test their version of Cortana for iOS. Microsoft has been in the past six months testing their app and now it has reached the level wherein the app is ready to be previewed by the public. Microsoft announced that they would like to have some help to make sure that Cortana will also be a great personal assistant to users using iOS. That is the reason why they are looking for a certain number of people to experience the early version of the said app.
Windows further adds that for now they are accepting a limited number of sign-ups for Cortana iOS beta from US and China. The public is told to stay put, as there will be frequent updates and additions to Cortana's features and functionality in the coming months.
Windows created Cortana to be an intelligent personal assistant for users of Windows Phone 8.1, Microsoft Band, and Windows 10. It will also soon be available to iOS, Android and Xbox One. Cortana is also described to by Windows to be THAT clever personal assistant that you can ever have.
She will help you find things in your PC like your files; help manage your calendar; remind you of important dates, appointments, or errands; track your packages; chat with you and can even tell you a joke. It is said that the more you use Cortana, the more personalized each experience will be.
