Consumers might be torn between buying an iPhone or Apple Watch 2 because it is rumored that the second generation Apple Watch is independent of the mobile device.
What does that mean? In layman's term, Apple Watch 2 can function like an iPhone. According to Wall Street Journal, the specs could be capable of connecting to the cell-network, along with a faster processor.
Additionally, Forbes also reported that Apple Watch 2 will possibly make a cellular connectivity with a tether-free calling. Users can also receive notifications and applications update without the help of Wireless Fidelity network.
While the release date of the newest gadget is still unclear, Game N Guide speculates that the product could be costly compared to its predecessor. However, this downside may be addressed for unveiling the power of eSIM Technology.
Basically, the eSIM Technology will let users "share their existing data plan on their gadgets other than their iPhone and other mobile devices," making it more convenient than having to buy a new one.
But not everyone is impressed with its rumored specs. Fitbit CEO James Park allegedly said that the Cupertino-based tech giant "took a wrong turn" with Apple Watch.
"We look at it from a consumer point of view," Mr. Park said, quotes New York Times. Apple Watch "is a computing platform, but that's really the wrong way to approach this category from the very beginning."
"We're going to be very careful with how we include these things over time," as he said, comparing their product to Apple's. "I think one of the general knocks against smartwatches is that people still don't know what they're good for, so they've crammed everything in."
Apple might be striving hard to go back into track, as previous reports stated that the sales for the savvy devices have dropped enormously, according to ZDNet.
