The latest update on the much-awaited Google Nexus 2016 suggests that the release date of the smartphone might happen earlier than expected. Many reports have claimed that the release date of Nexus 7 will be announced in few days' time as its predecessor, Nexus 6P has been spotted on various online websites with discounted prices.

Latin Post reported that the US-based technology giant might also not wait for the launch of the most-anticipated Android N operating system due this September. The reports suggest that Google will set the release date of the Nexus 2016 earlier by including a layered version of Android N.

The CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai, said that with the layered version of Android N, the company is trying to incorporate more software innovation in the upcoming Nexus 2016 device. Yibada reported that the folders will be completely redesigned in the new Android N operating system.

Further, it is reported that the Google Nexus 2016 will consist of built-in support for pressure sensitive touch displays. The reports suggest that the 3D Touch-sensitive display will detect different types of pressure input and allow the users to carry out various tap or other functions on the Nexus 2016 smartphone.

Meanwhile, Christian Times reported that Google Nexus 2016 will be made available in two variants i.e. M1 and S1. The reports also suggest that the upcoming smartphone will consist of a 7-inch screen for the two variants with Snapdragon 820 chip processor and 4 GB RAM.

In addition to that, the Nexus 2016 device is also expected to consist of Google Photo backup feature with enhanced camera specs.

With all the release date and specs rumors trending all over the internet, there are reports that the Google has partnered with Huawei in order to manufacture the Nexus 2016 devices. Huawei also confirmed the same news in a recent report. "We are proud to have worked with Google, which is strong in innovation, on the Nexus 6P and will continue to collaborate in the future, such as our support for Daydream, the recently-announced platform for high-performance mobile VR," said the company's representative, as reported by PC Advisor.

The Google Nexus 2016 is expected to be priced for $419.99.
