Will 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Be Revealed At Gamescom? Rumored Prequel Not Console Exclusive Anymore?
Carlo de LacyTake-Two Interactive's epic open-world wild west game "Red Dead Redemption 2" might be revealed at Gamescom this coming August. With the company securing their exhibitor slot, fans can definitely get their hopes up.
Rockstar Games' anticipated "Red Dead Redemption 2" may actually be revelead this time. Multiple news outlets like Inquisitr couldn't be too far off with the speculation, given that Take-Two secured two separate booths at Gamescom 2016.
All these, however, may still be taken as a grain of salt as no official announcements were made yet. Both Take-Two and Rockstar Games are keeping quiet about the rumors as well. Same goes for their official websites or social media accounts, which shows no hint of the game at all.
Still, with rumors running around, fans may look forward to see John Marston once more. Possibly in his younger years and the game may, in fact, be a prequel. Obviously, map sizes are increasing as the standards are set by large open-world games like "Just Cause 3" and "Grand Theft Auto V."
John Marston, the game's protagonist, was one of the most popular characters in the video game industry and not everybody was pleased with his death in "Red Dead Redemption." Returning as a zombie in "Undead Nightmare" just wouldn't cut it.
The Xbox One backwards compatibility of "Red Dead Redemption" was more than just well-received. It would be no surprise that the developers and publishers will definitely push "Red Dead Redemption 2" in due time.
Some fans may be concerned regarding the exclusivity of the game. The original game never got released for the PC and some reports from sites like VG247 even stated that Take-Two never really considered it.
Contrary to that, remember "Grand Theft Auto V" and the gap between its Console and PC version? The desktop port was almost as elusive as "Half-Life 3," but it did happen. Here's to hoping that same goes for the cowboy's return.
