"Red Dead Redemption 2" has always been a mystery to many gamers. After its official teaser, news for Rockstar's most anticipated game in 2017 has been scarce.

Info about the west inspired game has mostly come from rumors and speculations. The only problem is, most of them are elaborate fake news.

Moreover, there have been countless claims of when the game will be actually released. Needless to say, there hasn't been any legitimate information up until now.

Rockstar has previously stated that the game could be out in Fall 2017 but has been vague about the exact date. Luckily, members of the Reddit community might have uncovered the game's possible release.

According to the thread, a Polish retailer might have accidentally spilled the info. Folks on Reddit came across Media Markt's pre-order page for the "Red Dead Redemption 2." Surprisingly, the page had a specific launch date for the well-anticipated game; October 3.

CD-Action reached out to the Polish store to confirm if this was true. Media Markt emailed a response and according to them, the info came from its distributors. Interestingly, the date falls on a Tuesday, a traditional release date for U.S. game publishers.

However, as promising as it is, the new info was later backtracked by folks of Media Markt. Wioletta Batóg, a PR rep for the retailer emailed that the release date has not been released. The rep also said that the previous person that confirmed the October 3 info was mistaken.

Since the backtrack, the date on the listing has been mysteriously updated. It is possible that 2K and Rockstar might have a hand in this. Both companies have continued to safeguard information with regards "Red Dead Redemption 2."

The events actually do not add up, confirming and backtracking a statement is quite a weird case. Either way, it could be a big slip or an honest mistake on the part of Media Markt.

Whatever the case is, "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be hitting game platforms soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
