HNGN reported that the new Apple iPad will sport a sturdy 7000-series aluminum chassis with a slimmer body as compared to its predecessor. It is stated that the new chassis will make the Apple device durable and less pliable. Reports also claimed that the fifth installment of the iPad Mini will sport a 3D Touch pressure-sensitive screen, which is expected to provide the customers with enhanced user experience.

Furthermore, the iPad Mini 5 is rumored to be powered by the A9 chipset, which will help the device to provide enhanced display resolution. Also, it will consist of 3 GB RAM and three internal storage variants of 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB.

In terms of software specs, the upcoming iPad Mini installment will run on the latest iOS 10, which is rumored to add some tweaks to the device interface. Also, the Apple device might also sport an 8-megapixel rear and a 1.2-megapixel front camera with True Tone flash.

Besides, the device is expected to be made available with a Smart Connector along with the quad speakers similar to that of the iPad Pro devices. As far as the release date is concerned, the new iPad Mini 5 is rumored to be launched in the first quarter of 2017. However, Apple has not provided any official confirmation about the release date or the specs. So, all the rumors should be taken with a grain of salt as of now.
