Great GoPro Karma Alternatives Besides DJI Mavic Pro
C. de LacyGoPro Karma and DJI Mavic Pro are the best camera/drone combos right now for most consumers. Still, there are a couple of alternatives that could be just a good with these two leading brands and models and possibly, even better in terms of price and user requirements.
Last month, GoPro finally entered the drone business with the GoPro Karma Drone along with the Hero5. This combination was well-received that a lot of consumers, brand fans and even new comers are highly interested.
DJI, on the other hand, wasn't just sitting by and watch GoPro hog all the action as they've also announced the DJI Mavic Pro, which shows even more promise than the GoPro Karma.
However, for those who are still looking for more options due to size, budget and features, there are still some drone/camera combos out there, which could be a bang for the buck, depending on how deep their pockets are.
Walker QR X350
This model comes up first on our list because it is the most affordable solution without compromising too much quality that people expect from the GoPro Karma. The Karma itself is already priced at $799 just for the drone. A bundle that includes the Hero5 goes somewhere around $999.
The Walker QR X350 can produce footage that are very usable and it also has more additional flight time, which could somewhat beat GoPro Karma's limited time.
This drone is priced at around $350 or so on Amazon.
3DR Solo Drone Solo Quadcopter
Another great alternative for GoPro Karma and DJI Mavic Pro. The 3DR Solo Drone Quadcopter is another feature-packed drone. It is, however, without a built-in camera, but the great thing about it is that it can be used with GoPro cameras like the Hero5.
Similar with the DJI Mavic Pro, this drone also packs a punch in terms of controls as it also has a videogame themed controller, making it easier to control. It even has photo modes like selfie, follow-me, orbit and cable cam.
It's a bit pricey with price starting around $379.39 on Amazon for the Quadcopter alone and $712.49 with a pre-installed Gimbal. Still, with the controls, it could be a tough competitor especially for those who don't mind the extra bulk.
