New Blackberry Phones Might be Unveiled Soon

TCL, the company behind TVs and Alcatel phones, gave a hint of its plans for CES 2017 early next year, and it will be mainly about Blackberry. With its agreement with the Canadian firm, TCL will release handsets under the brand of Blackberry. Enthusiasts and will get a chance to have a first look at the result of this partnership at the said event.

As mentioned in the press release, TCL "will unveil an evolutionary first in the mobile industry, which will include the addition of the new BlackBerry brand of smartphones, complementing the company's current portfolio" during the said event.

No additional information was mentioned on what specific things that TCL is planning were mentioned. It is not yet clear if the company will unveil mobile devices or just discuss what the company's future plans are.

CES, noted as the biggest tech show on Earth, most probably TCL will unveil a device and users can get it. TCL is perceived as very ambitious, hoping to bump up its position in the market to the upscale premium brand in the Northern America market. At the event, the company will lay out how it strategies to take the Blackberry brand legacy and take it to the next generation of mobile phones.

"We'll unveil more news at CES around our plans, showcasing the legacy of the BlackBerry smartphone brand, while also giving a glimpse into what new BlackBerry smartphones will offer as part of our bold new brand portfolio within [TCL]," mentioned in the press release by Steve Cistulli, the head of TCL in North America.

Though it is not yet certain whether a mobile device or devices will be at CES or launched at a later time, a key takeaway from the recent release is that the new handsets for BlackBerry are placed at a premium level as TCL shies away from economically priced devices. As CES 2017 happens, the mobile community will be watching out for any update and releases.
