PlayStation VR Evolves From Gaming To Full Featured 360 Video Viewing Device
Louise BonquinPlayStation VR is not just about games anymore. It is a device that has evolved from an advanced gaming accessory to a must-have for cutting edge TV and movie viewing experience.
The PlayStation VR was updated recently with the addition of Jaunt app, and it offers even better specs for cinematic viewing of favorite videos. This new app on the PS console provides wide range of options in the world of virtual reality programming. Best of all, it allows users to experience watching videos in 360 degrees.
The Jaunt app on PSVR was only launched recently so those who will get their device starting today can already have the app installed on their Sony VR system. Upon installation, users can immediately enjoy some videos such as "The Lion King and "Pure McCartney Experience" documentary since they are already listed in Jaunt's library.
The Jaunt VR is a virtual reality application that transforms games, movies and shows into realistic images. The technology recreates sounds and sensations to produce real environment for videos being viewed.
In the press release, Jaunt CEO George Kliavkoff stated, "We're thrilled to introduce our dynamic list of immersive VR experiences to users on a platform that is quickly evolving to be more than a gaming console."
He added that their team is committed to providing better entertainment to users regardless of where they may be. The CEO further said that the PSVR Jaunt app will not just bring a different kind of cinematic VR content viewing experience to users worldwide but they will strive to bring Jaunt on most VR platform.
Lastly, another added feature is coming to PSVR. Tech Radar reported that PlayStation VR will have the 360-degree YouTube app. This means that the PSVR users can now view most of the videos in 360-degree, however, this is not yet available but will be rolled out slowly in the coming days.
