2016 Mac Apps Roundup: Mac's Most Used Apps Essential For Daily Use

Arianne Gift

Your new Mac may have one or a few flaws, but it goes without saying that Apple's latest offerings are pieces of sophistication morphed into one useable device. It is already amazing on its own, but it wouldn't hurt to infuse your Mac with some apps to make it even better.

Here are some the most useful apps fit for your Apple laptop. These are the apps we use on a daily basis, and have given us the convenience a Mac user deserves.

4K Video Downloader

Wanting to download a YouTube clip isn't something to feel guilty about. 4K Video Downloader makes it all super easy with a few clicks. The publisher of the app also has a tool called 4K YouTube to MP3, which is self explanatory and 4K Stogram, to download Instagram photos.

Giphy Capture

Although GIFBrewery is more advanced, Giphy Capture is the easiest way to make GIFs from video clips or whatever is happening on your Mac. Tumblr users should find this delightful.

Notational Velocity

Notational Velocity works wonders for writers, professional or noobs. This app makes it easier to create, find and sync your usually cluttered notes. Unfortunately, it has become one of those most-used MacBook apps that's been abandoned, meaning it's not actively maintained. It's still available, though, so you might as well take advantage of its Simplenote, which saves your notes as plain text files.

Calca

Calca is a text editor that lets you do math with text instead of a calculator. It takes time to get used to, but it turns your math project easy to edit, especially when a variable changes.

Rocket

Possibly the most relevant MacBook app there is (at least for the millennial), Rocket autocompletes your emojis, as if clicking a cartoony face isn't easy enough. Still, typing the name of an emoji is indeed more convenient than sorting through hundreds of tiny dots, isn't it?

This list could be longer, for sure. Is there a Mac-worthy app that should have made it to this list? Let us know!
