Tweaking The Algorithm: Google Search Engine Finally Gets Rid Of Holocaust Denial Sites From Its Search List!
uBmuseGoogle has finally tweaked its search engine's algorithm to filter out Holocaust denial sites from its search results. The Tech giant was under huge criticism after it was reported that the first result displayed on Google Search Engine for "Did the Holocaust happen?" was from Stormfront, a white supremacist website.
When the report first became public and people started questioning the algorithm followed, the company straight away denied deleting any such posts as it was against the company's ideals. The reported article was titled "Top 10 reasons why the holocaust didn't happen" and received critical remarks from users all around the globe. The Tech Giant stated that they could only remove illegal content, malware, and websites violating their webmaster guidelines.
However, now it appears that something or someone made the tech giant change its mind over the Google Search Engine. In an interview given to Digital Trends, a Google official stated that finding the best result for a query is a difficult task and the Internet Assessors do sometimes make mistakes. He also stated that the tech giant believes in the ideology of a Free and Open Web and wishes to offer diverse content from various sources.
Google, in a recent announcement, stated that the company has made changes in its algorithm to prevent any such results to appear with the "Holocaust Denial" base. While the company believes that this would help to provide a better and credible content, the changes will be applied only to non-authoritative information on the Google Search Engine.
The company has now decided to ban any fake news website permanently from its search engine. Various Tech related sites are already facing criticism for spreading fake news and Google has decided to put an end to such sites. While Google has decided to alter the algorithm time and again to curb this problem, other sites including Youtube still have the same search pattern.
