$199 Google Nexus Tablet Rumored with a Front Facing Camera

Ishayat Ahmed

The highly rumored Google Nexus tablet is probably coming with a front facing camera and the source of this rumor, DigiTimes has not been able to confirm about the camera at the back which shows the probability of only one camera which will be the front one.

The decision is really interesting to keep the price low, but also a practical one as there are not many people who use tablets as real cameras. The estimated price of those tablets is still $199 and these 7-inch Nexus tablets are expected to hit the shelves in this July. Asus is expecting to ship three million units by the second half of this year.

After the big announcement even of Microsoft Surface, people are also expecting from Google for such an announcement in the next Google I/O which is not far away. There is also another probability that the first batch of tablets will not feature 3G connectivity as the rumors are all about a Wi-Fi only Nexus tablet.

The Nexus tablets will come preloaded with the Google Chrome browser. Many analysts are comparing between the newly announced Surfaces and Nexus tablets, but they are for completely different markets as they will probably be sold at completely different price points.

Surprisingly, Asus is also planning to release their own 7-inch tablets which will be even cheaper and will be shipped after the shipment of Google Nexus tablets. The estimated price of those tablets is from $159-179. Therefore, Kindle Fire is alone no more! The competition is heating up in this price point and only quality of these tablets will say whether it is going to be a long one.
