'Dragon Quest XI' Development NHK Broadcast Reveals Camping, Dragon Riding, Smithing & More!
Switchy SamA "Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time" plans and testing are revealed from an NHK General TV broadcast. The developers and creators are trying their best to optimise and put the plans into action through testing and further brainstorming.
Through days and years of hard work, Square Enix has developed a unique game with the same elements from the previous series. This new upcoming game will reveal a vast array of features including camping and "mysterious smithing" option, which creates weapons used in battle.
Camping and riding a dragon
"Dragon Quest XI" now has a camping option, which restores the HP and MP of all players in the party out on the field. The game also somewhat prioritizes on open-world and free roaming capabilities, especially on the PS4 console because it makes everything picturesque.
In addition, the game now has a dragon mount, where players can ride and fly to any regions across the map, which gives the Blue Dragon feeling as what Polygon mentioned in their article. Even praying to a goddess is included, which restores or boosts characters in the game. The video below shows the endless testing and meeting to meet certain expectations from both developers and creators.
Based on an article from Gematsu, the items created in the "mysterious smithing" option contains scaling difficulties depending on the item created. Examples of weapons created in the said option are Zombie Buster, Platinum Sword, Magic Swordsman Rapier, Metal Slime Sword, and many more. Again, these weapons require materials and items either from monster drops or from buying it on shops.
Turn based or real-time combat based
Fans are scouring information relating to "Dragon Quest XI: In Search Of Departed Time" to know if the game is turn-based or not. However, Square Enix did not yet reveal any information regarding its battle system, including its release date for the Nintendo Switch console.
On the other hand, the release date for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS consoles will be in 2017 in Japan. The video from Square Enix below shows a comparison between two platforms, which is still great in its own way. Hopefully, localization will not take long to make for this game.
