Nokia D1C To Launch In Early 2017; Four New Nokia Models Coming Soon? Here’s What We Know So Far
Keisha WallaceNew Nokia-branded smartphones are set to be unveiled this year and as it seems, HMD Global is gearing up to announce the first device in February. Additionally, reports claimed that the Finland-based mobile manufacturer is currently working with Taiwanese supply chain makers to produce four different Nokia smartphone models to be launched later in 2017.
HMD Global is reportedly planning to reveal a Nokia-branded device during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) which will be held from Feb. 27 to March 2. Dubbed as Nokia D1C, the new Nokia smartphone will apparently come in two variants as reported by DigiTimes.
The first Nokia D1C model is said to sport a 5.5-inch Full HD screen display and will equip 3GB of RAM. Though full specs of the device are yet to be confirmed, it is expected to have higher-end specs and will cost around $200, reportedly.
The cheaper Nokia D1C variant, on the other hand, is speculated to have 2GB of RAM with a 5-inch Full HD screen display. Given its supposed lower-end specs compared to the above-mentioned model, the price point is only around $150.
Moreover, the Nokia D1C device is suggested to be powered by a Snapdragon 600 processor and will carry an Android 7.0 Nougat OS, Tech Times reported. However, the report claimed that the smartphone may be released at CES this month, contrary to the February launch at MWC claimed by DigiTimes.
Meanwhile, the aforementioned four new Nokia-branded smartphones to be developed by HMD Global in cooperation with Taiwan's supply chain makers are believed to sport varying screen displays from 5 to 5.7 inches. The company has not confirmed the details yet but reports claimed that LG Display, Century Technology (CTC) and Innolux will be its panel suppliers, reportedly.
