Ubisoft's "Beyond Good & Evil 2" is a project that hasbeen linked to Nintendo Switch for a quite a while now. Following the initial reports that the game will be exclusive to Nintendo's new gaming console, its creator, Michael Ancel, went on to confirm that it is in development at Ubisoft Montpellier. As of this writing, Ancel's creation is reportedly going to be a timed Switch exclusive for 12 months.

Hearing the news from a Ubisoft source, well-known Nintendo insider Laura Kate Dale is reporting that "Beyond Good & Evil 2" (codenamed 'Odyssey') will be tied to the Nintendo Switch for a full year. Dale's report in Let's Play Video Games also states that once the exclusivity is over, the game will have a digital release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

"BGE2 codename is Odyssey. Exclusive to Switch for 12 months only, retail and digital versions. After 12 months digital on PS4 and XB1," Dale revealed on her verified Twitter account. "PC Port after 12 months too. BGE2 Odyssey teaser is done. Likely to be at the end of the end of Jan 12 event."

"Beyond Good & Evil 2" was officially confirmed to be in development in October 2016 via PlayStation Lifestyle. Dale's report hints that the teaser for the game is done and could be launched at Nintendo's Switch presentation even on January 12.

Should Dale's report turn out to be true, it would not be the first time Ubisoft has released a game on a Nintendo platform first. To recall, "ZombiU" was first released exclusive for Wii U in 2012, only to be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC several years later. The same thing happened with "Rayman Legends," which was first announced as a Wii U exclusive. The game eventually came out on numerous platforms, as well.

Both Ubisoft and Nintendo have yet to comment on the status of "Beyond Good & Evil 2." The Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 will broadcast on January 12, 8pm PT and 11pm ET. Watch it live at Nintendo.
