Blackberry Moving On With The New Press Smartphone
JulianneBlackberry, as everybody had known, has stopped manufacturing smartphones and all rights had been claim by TCL. However, with the new year ahead, it seems the brand is having a resurrection with TCL bringing a new handheld for the CES 2017.
A couple of weeks ago, TCL announced their plans to launch new Blackberry phones at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017. A Twitter post by TCL's North America President Steve Cistulli shows a four second video, which a QWERTY keyboard flagship is only featured.

The publication further reports that the said handheld will be the DTEK70, which makes sense given that other DTEK smartphones from the company had previously launched. Moreover, Cistulli's tweet gives us insights of what will the new variant be called as the North American President emphasize the word "press" in "ImPRESSively."
According to TechnoBuffalo, the upcoming handheld will be powered by Android and will obviously have a physical keyboard that sits beneath its display. The smartphone would also be packing with a Snapdragon 821 processor, 3GB of RAM along with a 32GM of internal storage. The publication further added that the spacebar features a fingerprint scanner, which makes the handheld look odd in the video shown by the TCL North American President.
Meanwhile,TCL will hold a press conference at the CES 2017 in Las Vegas on January 4, 2017 to reveal the upcoming Blackberry smartphone at the said event. The report also suggests that the Mercury phone will be the last to be developed in-house.
For those who didn't know, TCL is the new company that owns and manufactures both Blackberry and Alcatel smartphones since the latter officially pulled out of the handset manufacturing business last year. The Canadian company did launch two smartphones (DTEK50 and DTEK60) before pulling the plug.
