Sony's PlayStation is among the most popular consoles in the industry. For years, Sony has provided a quality gaming experience through its consoles. PlayStation 4 has offered innovation, giving users a different approach to games, especially with PlayStation VR.

Sony CEO Kaz Hirai provided his own insight into the performance of PlayStation 4. According to Dual Shockers, the CEO mentioned this during Sony's Press Conference at CES in Las Vegas. Hirai placed emphasis on the success that PlayStation 4 has been getting. He said that PS4's momentum has been strong ever since it was released four years ago.

The CEO also mentioned a milestone in its sales. CNBC reported that the console has sold 6.2 million units during the holiday season 2016. This has increased the company's global sales to 53.4 million units ever since its launch. The figure has risen by 9 percent during almost the same time last 2015.

With the ongoing success of PlayStation 4, CEO Kaz Hirai talked about PlayStation VR and how it is a "great start" for it. He also revealed a new VR experience -- a collaboration between Sony Music Entertainment and Kygo, a popular electronic musician.

"Here, for example, Sony Music Entertainment developed a VR music experience with electronic musician Kygo, and you can all experience it at our booth today," Hirai said. "For those in the US that are not here, rest assured, it will be available at our PlayStation Store starting today."

However, music won't be the only treat from Sony and PlayStation VR. Apparently, Sony Pictures Entertainment will also release content for the device soon.

The VR music experiment Hirai is talking about is titled "Carry Me: the VR experience." It gives the user a chance to experience stunning worlds and incredible environments along with impressive audio. Itt is now available at the PlayStation Store for $1.99.
