Huawei Mate 9 US Version To Get AI Tech From Amazon's Alexa
Gloven RamosAmazon Alexa is now making its step into smartphones. The Amazon's Intelligent Personal Assistant or IPA will arrive on Huawei's Mate 9.
Like Apple's Siri and Google's Assistant, this Amazon Alexa will give virtual assistant into Huawei's users. In fact, Huawei Mate 9 is the first properly Alexa-enabled smartphone.
Amazon Alexa gives useful benefits into its users. You can ask it many questions, like; holidays, sport news, weather forecast, etc. It can also play audiobooks, music, control smart home device, set alarms, and manage your calendar. This technology debut on Echo Smart speakers, and eventually in Huawei Mate 9 smartphone.
This partnership is beneficial to both companies. As what is mentioned earlier, Huawei Mate 9 is the first ever smartphone to have Alexa. Amazon Alexa, on the other hand, gets the chance to forge partnership with Huawei, which is one of the largest smartphone manufacturer in China.
The Echo and Echo Dot devices, which supports Amazon Alexa, are not available on China's site. So this partnership with Huawei Mate 9 makes them penetrate the Chinese market to introduce their AI technology.
In November 2016, the Huawei Mate 9 announced and set to launch in Asia, Middle East and Europe. At CES 2017, it was announced that this giant smartphone will arrive in the U.S. with Amazon Alexa on board according to Android Police.
Aside from the Amazon Alexa feature, the Huawei Mate 9 is 5.9" with 1080p IPS LCD handset, and it runs Android 7.0 Nougat. It also has a massive 4000mah battery that last longer, but it has super charge technology helping it to charge quickly. A Kirin 960 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage capacity and dual-lens camera.
Huawei Mate 9 is now available on Amazon, Best Buy, B&H and Newegg at $600 USD. The model that will release in the U.S., on the other hand, will have Amazon Alexa integration. However, as the Pocket-Lint report, Huawei has confirmed that it's not just the new phones that get the Alexa, but that it will be rolling-out to existing Mate 9 owners too.
