'Lumigent' Smart Robotic Lamp is not Just Your Ordinary Light Source
Rommel"Lumigent" is the first smart robotic lamp that aims not to be just your typical light source. It promises to change your life and light it up in more than ways than one. The AI device prides its speech recognition ability to transform functions and eventually take pictures. The said lamp-device can do that for the owner when asked nicely.
Lumigent at CES 2017: It is a wi-fi connected lamp which has a camera feature. Greet "Hi, Lumi" and it will automatically provide the most suitable light source depending on your work habit. The lamp will auto-adjust and set itself for pre-determined brightness levels. The attached cam will give you the option to capture images of documents and even give you a record of your work.
This HoloLamp which is configured with the help of wi-fi has a movable axis feature along with four degrees of freedom. It is easily foldable when not in use. The Lumigent can be folded to save space but when asked to turn on, the light source will return to its position. Everything about Lumigent can be controlled via voice recognition, aside from the autofocus 8-MP camera. All the photos taken are saved in a microSD or via cloud when using wi-Fi.
Another amazing feature of the Lumigent is the ability to position the lamp and control its brightness without using the hands or touch. Pre-determined settings for ideal lighting conditions can be configured. User can have a position dedicated only for reading and another for working or watching TV and the lamp will follow. The robotic lamp has four motors which is equipped with minute differences in angles as applied and memorized by its system. The concept is to work on the ideal environment you set.
The device is impressive and is definitely ready for the market. The expected release date is for Fall 2017. However, it can be quite expensive. The smart lamp can cost around $400 to $700.
