HTC One X10 Official Reveal Predicted At 'For U' Event This Week; HTC Ocean Note To Launch Q1 2017
Vinay PatelHTC is likely to take the wraps off three new handsets including the HTC U Play, HTC 11 Ocean and the successor of its One X9, the HTC One X10 at its 'For U' event. It is slated take place this Thursday, January 12.
HTC X10 a.k.a HTC One X10 has been subject to a slew of speculations surrounding the device's release date, specs and features. Adding more fuel to already burning rumors, tech tipster Evan Blass said in a report on VentureBeat that the HTC One X10 will be announced later this month.
In terms of specifications, Blass noted that the HTC One X10 will not be a radical upgrade to its precursor. Moreover, the purported phablet will feature bumped up camera specifications as compared to the One X9. Aside from that, the HTC One X10 will retain all features of its predecessor.
Furthermore, the report suggests HTC One X10 will come with a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolutions. Under the hood, a powerful octa-core MT6755V/C processor clocked at 1.9GHz and coupled with Mali T860 graphics will fire up the device.
The HTC One X10 will pack 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device will feature a 16MP primary and 7.9MP secondary cameras.
Along with 6 other HTC smartphones, the HTC One X10 was certified in Russia in November last year, when there was nearly no information available, Mobiltelefon reported via GSM Arena. However, the upcoming HTC X9 had nearly all the specs identical to the HTC One X10. The HTC X10 will be up for grabs for about CNY 2,000, which converts to about $286.
In other news, Blass recently posted a teaser video (see below) to his Twitter account and captioned it, "Remember the HTC Ocean?" The video suggests HTC Ocean will feature a new, simplified UI that will facilitate accessing recent apps.
The apps can be managed with the help of physical buttons on the left and right sides. In addition, the HTC Ocean will sport a high-end front snapper.
The HTC Ocean uses the edges of the display in an extremely beneficial way by allowing users to scroll through a list of apps with the help of just the edges of the screen. But that's not all. Users will be able to access an application by simply tapping on the edge of the display.
In the video footage below, it can be seen how users can effortlessly take a selfie using the smartphone's new edge screen functionality. Hopefully, smartphone lovers will be able to get their hands on the HTC Ocean as well as HTC One X10 on January 12.
