MacBook Air 2017 Might Discontinue Air Line Surfaces; What We Know So Far
Nens MitchellSpeculations on the discontinuation of the MacBook Air line surface online linking this possibility with the poor performance of Apple products in the past months. MacBook fans are eager to know if the tech giant will indeed release a new MacBook Air unit this year or not.
MacBook problems, concerns
A number of reports recently indicated that MacBook users complained of battery issues with their units noting that many had low battery life. With the expensive cost of the MacBook line, many expect that they will also be given premium specs and features when using the product.
This could be one of the reasons why analysts believe that Apple could drop the MacBook Air line since the company is said to be planning to cut their MacBook production by around 16 percent for 2017. The Cupertino-based company is only targeting to make 13.6 million notebooks for this year which is 2.6 million less than their production in 2016.
iPad as replacement
Another possible reason why Apple could decide to discontinue producing MacBook Air units is that the iPad tablets are slowly becoming alternatives to the thin Apple laptops. The iPad Pro could eventually lead to the further decline in the sales of the MacBook Air.
It was also noted that iPad Pro models also come with physical keyboards making it easier for users to type documents and navigate through the useful apps and features of the tablet. Add to this the efficient speaker system of the iPad Pro which is said to be even better than what the MacBook Air offers.
Will Apple still release a MacBook Air?
If ever Apple decides to continue with the MacBook Air, the device could release between March and May 2017. It is also thought to have a customizable keyboard which supports various languages. Do you think there will be a MacBook Air 2017?
