"Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 episode 9 titled "Raiders of the Lost Art" will see the return of fan favorite character Rip Hunter portrayed by Arthur Darvill. Interestingly, he is in possession of the controversial artifact known to alter reality mentioned in the midseason finale, the Spear of Destiny. Additionally, the former Waverider captain has no memory of his past and it's up to the Legends to find a way to bring him back.

As confirmed by "LOT" Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim to TV Line, the second half of Season 2 will be centered on the Spear of Destiny and what it can do to the timeline. He also talked about Darvill and revealed the actor will have a new accent and will deliver a unique acting. This is something that fans have long been waiting for as teasers for the new episode sees an American Rip who is now a film director.

Apart from Rip's memory alteration, his possession of the Spear of Destiny is something that the Legends need to dig into. In the synopsis of "LOT" episode 9, it is said that the Legends will meet him in 1967 and discover that he holds the artifact. Why and how he got it is for the Legends to figure out.

Meanwhile, the Legion of Doom is suggested to create a huge aberration that will affect the younger version of George Lucas who will be portrayed by Matt Angel, Entertainment Weekly reported. Lucas who is known to be the writer and director behind "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Star Wars" will quit film school. As a result, Nate portrayed by Nick Zano and Ray played by Brandon Routh will be of little to no help to the Legends.

Why? That's because "Raiders" gave Nate the inspiration to become a historian, which "Star Wars" similarly did for Ray who became an engineer because of the movie. Now that Lucas has given up on film school, the two popular movies never made it into the altered timeline.

"Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 will be back this year in a new timeslot. Scheduled every Tuesdays back to back with "The Flash" Season 3, new episodes will air at 9 p.m. ET. Check out the trailer below.
