If you are eagerly waiting to watch The Dark Knight Rises but unfortunately, are not among those lucky ones to possess a pre-booked ticket, don't worry. There is still a chunk of unsold tickets in the market that the ticket scalpers are selling. You can buy these and put an end to your batman craving. But hold on, how much do you think you're willing to pay for the ticket?
Well, before you make further speculations, remember that your hardcore love for Batman is surely going to become an expensive affair this weekend. The tickets have almost sold out and now the scalpers are out from their hibernation modes, selling them for a whopping $100 and even more. Well, if you are an ardent fan, would you purchase or leave?
Now that over 60,000 tickets have already been sold in advance, the trilogy has already surpassed the AMC marathon-event record nearly twice in numbers. Seeing the increasing demand, AMC is continuing to add ShowTime until the last moment.
The asking price for opening night tickets on Craigslist has hit the $100 per-ticket mark in New York. On eBay, a Los Angeles seller is selling a ticket for $125 and another in Council Bluffs, Iowa is asking for $140. These ticket prices cost a bomb and will surely burn a hole in your wallet.
Robert J. Lenihan, president of AMC Film Programming said "We're pulling out all of the stops to account for the demand we're seeing for both The Dark Knight Trilogy, as well as the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. While we always welcome a big walk-up crowd, we also strongly encourage fans to purchase their tickets in advance and secure their seat for this record-setting event."
The theaters are also offering some extra cookies to those who come for the movie. The fans seeing The Dark Knight Trilogy would receive a collectable lanyard along with a commemorative trilogy poster. Apart from this, AMC is also offering extra benefits to the AMC Stubs members who have already purchased the tickets by adding $5 Bonus Bucks on their AMC Stubs account. Now that's quite a lot of goodies!
With all the hype and Batman craziness in the air it seems that not only The Dark Knight is rising this weekend; the ticket prices too are skyrocketing. Are you amongst the lucky few to watch the Batman finale this weekend?
