Rockstar Games said that its developers are busy working to solve the Grand Theft Auto Online server issues and has detailed everything they're currently addressing.
GTA Online was eagerly-awaited by millions of gamers but, as expected with such great hype and excitement, the launch was not without some glitches. Some gamers have been experiencing launch day issues when trying to log in to the online mode.
"Thank you everyone for continuing to bear with us since yesterday's initial roll out of Grand Theft Auto Online - we're aware that a variety of technical difficulties have made it difficult to get access and that the experience has been a bit less than smooth for many of you who jumped in straight away, so here are a few updates as of this afternoon to keep you all apprised," wrote Rockstar in an official blog post on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
The company went on to explain exactly what issues are commonly occurring and what its developers are doing to fix them, as follows:
GTA Online PlayStation 3 issues
Some PlayStation 3 users have experienced a PlayStation Network server issue that did not allow for too many concurrent users. Rockstar acknowledged that most PS3 players were unable to access GTA Online altogether due to this problem, but said it has resolved it.
GTA Online First tutorial mission issue
The company also acknowledged an issue that prevented some players on both platforms from being able to complete the first tutorial mission. Many players have reportedly managed to get through this mission after repeated tries, but Rockstar said it's still working to fix this for everyone.
GTA Online services instability
According to Rockstar, some instability across the GTA Online services is currently affecting even those who managed to get past the aforementioned tutorial mission. The company is still working on identifying these issues and restore stability as soon as possible.
Purchasable GTA$ cash packs
Until all issues are resolved, things are smooth and everyone can properly access GTA Online, the company has decided to disable the option of purchasable GTA$ cash packs. In the meantime, gamers can still earn GTA$ by completing Jobs and pulling off other profitable gameplay activities.
Rockstar Games also has a dedicated article on its Support site, detailing the most common technical issues reported so far, so if you have experienced issues that are not listed here you can check out the article at this link.
