'Destiny' Update: Bungie Confirms New Content Coming; Iron Banner Returns With Awesome Rewards, The Dawning Events And Items Still Available [VIDEO]
Rei Lantion"Destiny" players have a lot to look forward to this 2017. Beyond reconfirming the sequel to the popular online first-person shooter to launch this year, game developer Bungie has remained tight-lipped on the specifics.
They have not, however, been resting on their laurels. Players can expect a new content update to hit sometime in the near future. Plus, the first "Iron Banner" of 2017 starts January 17 and runs until January 24.
Content Update "New Reasons to Fight." Bungie's newest post on their weekly blog reports that Bungie's Live Team is hard at work on a new content update. While they give no other details or hints as to what this content update will be,
Game Rant posits that it will be similar to "The Dawning," Destiny's live event that just recently ended. It introduced, among other things, three remastered Strikes, the "Sparrow Racing League" and a brand new Ice Breaker-a reported fan-favorite.
Treats Leftover From "The Dawning." Speaking of their recent live event, the blog post also mentions that players who missed out on "The Dawning" can still try out a number of events. Strike Scoring is still available, as are the Weekly Elite Bounties from Commander Zavala. Silver Dust Store and Eververse items are also still available for players who missed you. You can even try Sparrow Racing via Private Matches.
A full list of the remaining events can be found here.
"Iron Banner" 2017. Destiny's limited-time multiplayer event returns next week and the chosen game mode will be "Clash"-a classic shoot-out match for players who love to point-and-shoot or spray-and-pray. According to Games Radar, the gear rewards for this season's "Iron Banner" are simply stunning. Players have a chance to obtain wicked-looking rocket launchers, special sidearms, and new Hunter, Warlock, and Titan armor.
Destiny's "Iron Banner" event runs from January 17 to January 24. Speculations for the new content update expect the release to come as early next month. While not entirely improbable, given that last years' "Crimson Days" debuted in February as Valentine's Day event, no official release date has been announced.
