A Recent Software Fix Had Boosted Apple Macbook's Rate
Caroline SorianoApple has created a name in the industry that would definitely last a lifetime so there's no doubt, it has received many awards and recommendation. However, its MacBook Pro 2016 is the first to not receive any recommendation to "buy" from the Consumer Reports.
According to Pocket-Lint, the MacBook Pro 2016, or simply MacBook Pro, has been released sometime in October 2016. It has brought several changes that would overcome the 2015's version and it comes in 13 and 15-inch models. It has stripped out all the ports which were replaced with Thunderbolt 3 ports instead. It also has a new OLED Touch Bar which is placed where the Fn keys used to be.
Despite having new features and improvements, MacBook Pro has failed to have the coveted recommendation from Consumer Reports because of several inconsistencies from its battery life. However, this was resolved through a software fix to assure that it will have its ratings altered. Over the holidays, Apple and its team had run a re-test and fortunately, it has changed the Consumer Reports rating to "buy."
According to The Next Web, Apple issued a software upgrade to look after an "obscure and intermittent bug" which was caused by turning the browser caching off during the test. This step is implemented on all laptop tests done by Consumer Report and is created to provide a real world browser usage.
"With the updated software, the three MacBook Pros in our labs all performed well, with one model running 18.75 hours on a charge," Consumer Reports stated. "Now that we've factored in the new battery life measurements, the laptops' overall scores have risen, and all three machines now fall well within the recommended range in Consumer Reports ratings." After the latest MackBook Pro 2016 upgrade, a second test was conducted and it performed impressively which gets a thumbs-up. Apple will start to bring the software update to its users in several weeks while users who are under Apple's beta software program will already have their access to it.
