HTC started pushing out the software update to some users in November last year. However, just recently, HTC announced that it temporarily stopped the Android 7.0 Nougat rollout to HTC 10 handsets due to some of its unknown bugs. Though HTC hasn't officially confirmed yet on when the rollout will resume, a tipster reportedly said that it will happen in 3 weeks' time.

The revelation was made on LlabTooFeR's tweet wherein he recently announced that HTC will be pushing out the Android 7.0 Nougat software update to HTC 10 smartphones, both those that are carrier-bound and unlock that are sold in Europe. In addition, the said update will reportedly include the Android security patch for the month of January as well.

As per last week's HTC Germany's statement, the software update was temporarily stopped because of unforeseen issues though they were not able to mention which specifically. They ensured that its engineers are working diligently to address these said issues and resume the deployment of the update to all HTC 10 units. Apparently, the bugs must have been really severe, well enough to force HTC to halt the rollout of the highly awaited 7.0 Nougat update.

More importantly, the tweet made it clear that the timeframe mentioned is only for the EU units as well as carrier versions of the smartphone. However, it is reasonable to consider that other regions will get it around the same time too.

The Android 7.0 Nougat update will be bringing a lot of new features to HTC phones. It includes multi-window mode, improved battery life and updated notification area with quick reply from the pulldown bar.

HTC verified the 7.0 Nougat update for its HTC One M9 phones and started the rollout for unlocked phones last December. The U Ultra and U Play which were HTC's latest smartphones, came with 7.0 Nougat out of the box; however, its last year flagship ran Android 6.0 Marshmallow upon its launch.
