Huawei Mate 9 Tips: How To Turn Off The ‘Power-Intensive App Found’ Prompt
Arianne GiftAmong the amazing things the Huawei Mate 9 has is its 4000mAh battery, which allows the phone to last through the day or more on a single charge. However, the battery doesn't take all the credit for the phone's long uptime. The Chinese giant has optimized EMUI 5.0 and its beautiful and smart user interface, based on Android 7.0 Nougat, to inform users of apps that use way too much power in the background.
Technically, this benefits everybody using the Mate 9, but the notification does come off as annoying, doesn't it? The "Power-intensive app found" warning, which according to Huawei aims to help save your power, reappears several times a day and it could get into one's nerves.
Still, Kudos to Android for the effort. However, if you are one of those Huawei Mate 9 users who prefer not to get the notification, here's how to disable it.
Once the notification appears, swipe it down from the home screen then tap the Settings icon (the one with the cog). Scroll down and choose battery. Tap it to find another cog on the top-right, which should be in blue this time. The very first option you will see should be the Power-intensive prompt -- uncheck it.
That should do it. You will not be notified when apps are using what the OS believes is consuming too much power from here on out. Don't worry. You can manually close the apps on your own and, besides, Android will still perform its own battery and RAM saving optimizations behind the scenes. Only, you won't have to deal with the "Power-intensive app found" anymore.
A thread on Android Central says that this steps also work on the Huawei MediaPad M3, as well, which runs on EMUI 4.0. Try these easy steps on your Huawei Mate 9 and tell us in the comments section how it went.
