Today marks the official launch of the week-long "Destiny: Iron Banner" event. "Destiny" players can compete in level advantages enabled Crucible playlist for awesome rewards.

There are some sweet new sidearms and beautiful Hunter, Titan, and Warlock armor sets to look forward to. Alongside the launch, Bungie releases their latest hotfix patch 2.5.0.1. Plus, it looks like "Destiny 2" may be coming along as planned.

Latest Hotfix 2.5.0.1. The previous "Destiny" hotfix 2.5.0 update came out December of last year. While it addressed a lot of player concerns, some major issues popped up. Jan. 17, 2017 marks the release of the newer hotfix 2.5.0.1, which is expected to fix some commonly-reported issues.

According to Bungie, this hotfix will affect Xur's "Curio" inventory, which varies on a weekly basis due to "a limitation of inventory space." It will also address the inconsistency of weapon stability on the Nova Mortis and Abbadon Exotic Machine Gun. Players can read the rest of the post here.

However, according to Game Spot there are still some major issues that will not be fixed with the new 2.5.0.1 patch. These concerns include the erroneous removal of skeleton keys from Character Inventory and a failure to unlock the corresponding Grimoire card when the player acquires the Ice Breaker from weekly Vanguard Elite Bounty. Thankfully, Bungie is aware of these bugs and may address them in future hotfixes or update patches.

Activision Confirms 2017 Release Date. Despite some players concerns that "Destiny 2" may be delayed due to the release of new content for the original game, their worries seem to be unfounded. According to Daily Star, it's full speed ahead for this game's sequel. Eric Hirshberg, Activision Publishing CEO, says they're "on track" and "really excited for what we think is going to be an awesome sequel for Destiny in 2017."

Bungie's weekly post also suggests that the team is aware of potential questions the fans will soon pose for "Destiny 2". While the fanbase is understandably very excited for the sequel, it's nice to know that Bungie isn't foregoing the original game just yet and even seems intent on improving some areas that may have been considered weak.
