Sony Santa Monica game director Cory Balrog recently confirmed the name of Kratos' son in "God of War 4." So far, there is still no other news about the game other than the said confirmation. However, the ghost of Sparta's son, Atreus, is name that resonates in Greek Mythology and there are reports that states Atreus is a force to be reckon with.

According to iTechPost, Atreus in the Greek Mythology is ruthless, vile and vicious character. The character may share similarities with Kratos, but Atreus is considered as a monster.

The publication further reports that Atreus, along with his brother, Thyestes was one of the conspirators in killing their half-brother. Another story also is when Atreus took the throne from Thyestes, Atreus found out that Thyestes and his wife were having an affair.

And for their crimes, Atreus ordered to kill all sons and daughters of his wife and brother, then fed it to them, unnoticed. The barbarism and cruelty of Atreus still haunts the halls of Olympia, to this day.

In addition, Cory Balrog also confirmed that most of the game's motion capture footage has been shot and "God of War 4" is already playable. However, there is still no official release date provided for the game in the PlayStation 4.

Screen Rant reports that the game trailer is a major talking point from last year. Kratos tries to adjust his life post the original trilogy. Footage from last year also shows how the main protagonist is trying to build bonds with his son.

The recent discovery of the name of Kratos' son from the E3 trailer just proved that Cory Balrog is true to his word. Atreus was indeed discovered by a fan, Fabiano Banin from the trailer's comment section. While Balrog replied and congratulated Banin for his nice discovery.
