A new Sony Xperia XA could be coming out soon if online leaks will be trusted. Though it looks just like the previous release, fans are hoping new features will be introduced by Sony.

Leaks show new model

India Today reported that recent leaks showing the next Sony Xperia XA phone revealed that it will have a look similar to Sony's XZ series. However, it noted that the material which will be used for the device could be cheaper than what the company used for one of their premium lines.

Looking at the leaked photos, it can be seen that the upcoming Sony Xperia XA release will have a 5.-inch screen but with thinner bezels making the display look bigger. Though the power key is reduced compared to the previous model, it is believed that the phone will not introduce a fingerprint sensor functionality.

Color options

A Type C USB connector is also thought to come with the device as well as the 3.5mm headphone jack which will obviously be retained. GSM Arena added that there could be three color options for the next Sony Xperia XA: purple, navy blue and red.

It also noted that stereo speakers may also return to the Sony Xperia line. If true, the phone will be a perfect choice for people who love to listen to music using their smartphones.

Announcement date

In addition, Phone Arena said that the Sony phone could be announced during the MWC 2017 this coming February. It added that Sony fans and users should not expect major changes in the device as it may be designed and built similar to the previous Sony Xperia XA release.

There is still no official word from Sony but many are hoping that this will be one of their announcements next month. What do you want to see in the new Sony Xperia XA model for 2017?
