Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to launch at the Mobile World Congress this year but recent reports revealed that the Chinese technological device manufacturer will not make an appearance in the said event. Though the company didn't confirm the reason why it will skip MWC 2017, speculations claimed that there is no need to attend the event because it has no new devices to launch. For this reason, fans would not be able to see the unveiling of the new Xiaomi Mi 6.
A spokesperson of Xiaomi confirmed that the company is not going to be present in the entire MWC 2017 event, TechCrunch reported. The Chinese manufacturer spokesperson, however, did not elaborate why Xiaomi chose to ditch MWC 2017. With no fresh technologies to launch, the report by TechCrunch said that it could be the reason why Xiaomi is not going to attend the event.
This is said to be an unexpected decision as earlier reports claimed that the Chinese manufacturer will finally launch the Xiaomi Mi 6 during the congress. It can be recalled that Xiaomi unveiled its flagship Mi 5 lineup in the same event last year. Fans were apparently hoping that the same would happen this year but the company has seemingly decided not to attend the forthcoming gathering.
Meanwhile, fans are reportedly waiting for the release of Xiaomi Mi 6, which will sport Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor in its premium model, Digital Trends reported. The upcoming flagship device is also suggested to have a curved display and equip 6GB of RAM. As for the price point, the premium variant is expected to cost around $363.
Xiaomi Mi 6 specs, however, are yet to be confirmed by its manufacturer. Until then, users are advised to take such speculations with skepticism. Check out the speculated specs of the device below.
