'Dissidia Final Fantasy' Producer & Director Talks About Game's Future, Planned Story Mode & Additional Characters
Switchy Sam"Dissidia Final Fantasy" arcade version has been out for a while in Japan. Recently, the game producer Ichiro Hazama and game director Takeo Kujiraoka discussed about the game being ported to the PlayStation 4 console during an interview with Weekly Famitsu.
They also explained the reason behind the game not being featured in the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Opening Ceremony, considering that the game is part of Square Enix. The reason behind delay in the game's console version is it's story which is still incomplete.
Details, gameplay, performance, and synchronicity
Hazama said that they decided not to show "Dissidia Final Fantasy" at the recent event as the game is still not ready and lacks the necessary preparation needed for it to be showcased. He added that the game did not have "enough value," which validates it cannot be shown to the public yet, especially to fans expecting the console version and localization of the game. In fact, Hazama noted that there is incredible enthusiasm in the area of e-Sports overseas, and they might plan to move in that direction, reported Gematsu.
Notably, the interview has almost cleared the confusion among fans and players of "Dissidia Final Fantasy" console release. Furthermore, Kotaku interprets the report that the team does not have sufficient knowledge on establishing an e-Sport oriented game. However, they wish to master that field and slowly cultivate the basic knowledge into an expertise to make the plan successful. As of now, the characters are still limited, but Square Enix, including Hazama and Kujiraoka, plans to add more characters to the roster. Here is the current character roster:
