‘Battlefield 1” News: Winter Update Includes Map Voting & Return Of Ribbons; Launches This Week [VIDEO]
Pia MerciA potential big update is said to be coming to "Battlefield 1." It is expected to be launched in just a few days, as per EA and DICE's announcement.
According to GameSpot, a tweet sent out by the "Battlefield" account says that gamers should stay tuned as the game's Winter update is slated to come. A photo accompanies the said tweet that hints it will arrive by "next week."
Note that this is not tied directly to the game's first expansion, "They Shall Not Pass," which is slated to launch sometime next month. There were no confirmed details yet as to what the update consists of.
According to GameSpot, DICE has recently launched public test servers for "Battlefield 1." The changes that are seen there may possibly be included or exactly what is in the Winter update. Those supposedly include an increase to the maximum class rank to 50, the ability to vote for the next map at the end of a game, as well as the return of ribbons. These ribbons purportedly grant experience for reaching particular milestones during a match.
The full patch notes for the initial Community Test Environment patch can be seen on this site. A report suggests that, for comparison, "Battlefield 1's" Fall update was a substantial one.
"Battlefield 1" is a first-person shooter video game and is the fifth installment in the "Battlefield" series. It has proven the existence of World War 1 as a time period worth revisiting in first-person shooter games. It sheds light as well on how the result of such war has ultimately shaped people's lives today.
More so, it is the first main entry in the series as well since "Battlefield 4." It has been released last October 2016 and playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
