Since Rockstar seems adamant about not releasing any new updates, fans of "Red Dead Redemption 2" have taken to scrounging as much information as possible from any source regarding the highly-anticipated sequel. Reddit users are now puzzling over the famous RDR2 poster with the silhouetted characters against the blood red background.

Image comparisons show a good level of similarity between three of the depicted forms and existing characters Red Harlow, Jack Swift, and Landon Ricketts, hinting that these three may make some sort of appearance in the game.

'Red Dead Revolver' Protagonist Red Harlow to Return

It started when this image got posted to the "Red Dead Redemption" Reddit page, prompting another user to figure out the remaining three characters. They came up with Jack Swift, Shadow Wolf and "Red Dead Revolver" protagonist Red Harlow as the man in the middle. Interestingly enough, the image comparison shows there is a passable resemblance with the two. The Redditor points out that the mouth and hair are quite similar.

The other silhouette is said to belong to Jack Swift, with several users agreeing that the bowler hat and weapon give credence to this possibility. Others aren't quite sure, but since the comparison is between detailed screenshots and a silhouette, we agree the evidence is flimsy at best. The third silhouette is said to be Shadow Wolf. The usual argument of not enough visual evidence still stands. However, if the middle silhouette is indeed Red Harlow, it would make sense for Native Americans to play a bigger role in RDR2.

What Red Harlow's Return Could Mean for RDR2

Jumping from RDR2's article, Red Harlow appearing in "Red Dead Redemption 2" could mean several things. It would mean a full-blown prequel, for one thing, if Red makes an appearance in the game. He would be older than the events in "Red Dead Revolver," with John Marston still much younger than his character in "Red Dead Redemption." It would be interesting to see both protagonists as a way to connect the RDR games.

Other speculations say Red could offer unique bounty hunting opportunities, given his reputation as a cunning bounty hunter in "Red Dead Revolver." His native ancestry could also be explored further in "Red Dead Redemption 2," which would-as mentioned earlier-explain the possible appearance of Shadow Wolf.

Again, these are purely speculations with not much visual evidence to back it up, but it's interesting enough to warrant a deeper look. "Red Dead Redemption" is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this Fall 2017.
