Nintendo has many interesting changes introduced in the upcoming game "Splatoon 2." The game will have new battle stages, new in-game weapons and a new hub, among others.

New Battle Stage

Nintendo Everything revealed one of the new battle stages that will be introduced in "Splatoon 2." This new area called The Reef is a popular hangout when not being used for Turf Wars. It is located a few blocks from Inkopolis Square and is home to several popular boutiques in the city.

New Hub

In "Splatoon 2," Inkopolis Plaza is no longer the central hub of Inkling culture. It will be replaced by a new location within Inkopolis, known as Inkopolis Square. The new hub is described as the most popular area for young Inklings. In addition, it has many newly opened businesses and it is only two subway stations away from Inkopolis Plaza.

New Weapons

One of the featured weapons in "Splatoon 2" is a pair of twin pistols called Splat Duellies. With these weapons equipped, you can consume ink to perform a sideways dash by pushing the jump button. A new subweapon called the Curling Bomb will also be introduced in "Splatoon 2." Once deployed, the Curling Bomb slides across the ground and bounces off the walls.

In "Splatoon 2," a special weapon called Splashdown will be available. An Inkling who activates it will jump into the air and then strike the ground, sending an explosion of ink onto nearby players and surfaces. Splashdown can also be activated mid-Super Jump, creating an explosion of ink upon landing. This technique may be useful when helping a teammate who is under attack.

Another special weapon that will be in "Splatoon 2" is the Inkjet. It enables its user to hover in the air and features a blob launcher that can be used to shoot ink blobs at enemies below. It appears to be a very powerful weapon, but it also leaves its user exposed. When this special weapon runs out, the Inkjet explodes, sending its user back to the exact point they activated the special from.

Stingray is another special weapon in "Splatoon 2." It fires a ray of pressurized ink that can shoot through walls and travel even long distances, splatting any enemy players it touches. When activated, it is very difficult to change the direction of the ray.
