Revamped Nokia 3310 Is Not So Easy To Get, Stocks Are Allegedly Available Through Exclusive Deals Only
Regin OlimberioFans of the iconic Nokia 3310 can begin the celebration as reports indicate that it is going to make its unheralded comeback as early as this weekend. However, the retro phone might not be as available as costumers want it to be because it will allegedly sell on exclusive deals.
The Finland-based Nokia first released the 3310 model in 2000 and it immediately became one of the highest selling device of all time. Thanks to its svelte looks (way back then) and its unrivalled durability, Nokia 3310 survived the tests of time.
Come the Mobile World Congress 2017, Nokia will set a press conference to further detail the revamped 3310. Express thought that it is going to be featured alongside the all-new Nokia P1 smartphone. What is unclear for now is if 3310 will borrow some of the smart features of current phones or will it sport the same pixelated low-res display of the old version.
About the exclusivity of the phone, Mobile Today suggests that Nokia forged a partnership with Carphone Warehouse which is based in the UK to be the sole supplier of 3310. If true, the heartbreaking effect of such deal is the improbability of getting the phone from current mobile service providers. Carphone has not commented if indeed there is a deal. What they have right now is an exclusive stock of Nokia 150 which features basic functionalities like VGA camera, MP3 player, torch and Bluetooth connectivity.
Meanwhile, fans are setting a betting system on the Nokia 3310 which only confirms how popular the retro phone is. There is a 500/1 betting odd right now that predicts Nokia 3310 outselling the iPhone. Other bet includes 1/2 odds on color display instead of the traditional black-gray contrast.
Interestingly, fans are also expecting a comeback of iconic games like Snake and Tetris. Another feature that fans want to be incorporated is the phone's massive battery capacity that could last for days.
