This year has a lot in store for tablet fans all over the world as two of the most anticipated gadgets are set to be released: the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and the Apple iPad Pro 2. Even this early, tablet users are already torn between the two upcoming devices.

Operating system

Droid Report noted that the second installment of Apple's iPad Pro could run on iOS instead of the MacOS. Meanwhile, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is believed to run on the Windows operating system which still has an edge over Apple's OS.

Specs and features

It also indicated that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could come in three models with the entry-level option having a 128GB memory, 4GB of RAM and and Intel Core M3 processor. Another model of the device will reportedly sport an Intel Skylake processor and a bigger 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

On the other hand, CNet indicated that Apple fans could see a new model of the iPad Pro and also the 9.7-inch model which was introduced in 2016. It is set to come with a new Apple Pencil and four speakers to improve the audio experience of the user.

Camera and other offerings

Aside from these offerings, the Apple tablet is also thought to have a 12MP camera with True Tone Flash, a smart connector and minimal bezels. It will also reportedly retain the 3.5mm headphone jack that Apple removed from the iPhone 7 last year.

When it comes to battery life, Droid Life also highlighted that the former iPad Pro model beat the Surface Pro 4 with its 10 hours of battery life with the latter only lasting for half of the capacity of the Microsoft tablet. For this year, the iPad Pro 2 is anticipated to be more powerful than its predecessor when talking about battery capacity.
