Nexus 6P Android 7.1.2 Beta Version Update: No Fingerprint Gestures? Users Also Complain of Bug Issues
Nens MitchellAndroid 7.1.2 beta version is already rolling out for the Nexus 6P with handset owners long clamoring for it to come. However, users say the latest update still has bugs and other lacking features.
Update for the Nexus 6P
9to5Google reported that the update, which earlier became available for the Google Pixel and other selected Nexus devices, has also been made available to the Nexus 6P. Users, however, complained that the update on the handset does not come with the fingerprint gestures which allows users to make commands using only their fingerprint patterns.
The same feature was earlier introduced to other devices such as the Nexus 5X and Google Pixel phones. The update may have been similar to what was offered to these devices but it lacked a lot of great features.
Bugs not fixed
Minor bugs were also not fixed in the update despite the amount of time spent developing it. Users still cannot make changes in their Wi-Fi settings.
How to get Android 7.1.2?
According to Phone Arena, only those who are part of the Android Beta program can get the update on their phones. Nexus 6P users who also want to experience the Android 7.1.2 can simply sign up for the Beta program by proceeding to accounts.google.com and signing up their e-mail address. They would then need to click the "Enroll Device" tab that will appear on their phones.
Those who still cannot register themselves to the Beta program are encouraged to be a little more patient and just wait for the update to become available. When the Android 7.1.2 was rolled out, it was only made available to the Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus Player, Pixel C tablet and the Nexus 9.
The beta version also weighs 1.3GB and requires users to have this amount of free space on their phones. What other features do you expect from this Android update for Google phones?
