'Go To The Bathroom In Advance,' Jeff Bezos New Tourist Spacecraft Doesn't Allow Passengers To Poop In The Flight
Caezar SottoThe race is on for commercial space flights that would bring people aboard a chartered suborbital tour around the world. New advances in space travel have enabled some of the world's notable personalities to drive in the new interest.
Multi-billionaire and Tesla big shot Elon Musk has already successfully landed his SpaceX rockets back to Earth. Currently, all eyes are focused on the Musk's latest achievements.
One of Musk's most ardent observers is Amazon bigshot, Jeff Bezos. The CEO is also busy advertising for his space tourism vehicle called the New Shepard.
Apparently, the Amazon founder has announced that he's ready to accept passengers for chartered suborbital tours. Bezos has even stated that he's ready to take off to space as early as 2018.
However, there is a silver lining; passengers must poop before traveling the chartered tour. According to NBC News, the Amazon hotshot has implemented some strict rules to interested parties.
He told participants at the 33rd annual Space Symposium in Colorado Springs to "Go to the bathroom in advance." The outspoken CEO estimated that the flight it could take 40 to 41 minutes, from boarding until you are back to the ground.
The flight is quite short, but due to the excitement associated with the trip other people might have trouble holding their bladders. What's worst, passengers might succumb to diarrhea due to space travel anxiety.
Going to space with a leaking bladder would be torturous. But according to a former NASA employee, it's fine that the New Shepard has no bathroom.
In his conversation with Gizmodo, former chief scientist at NASA's human research program Mark Shelhamer stated that passengers wouldn't want to use their valuable time in the bathroom while in mid-flight.
He also added that while pooping in space cannot be avoided; there's apparently a better way to solve this problem. Shelhamer stated that "diapers" will likely be the key solution.
Interested individuals might as well find this humorous, but if you want to go to space, please wear a diaper. Stay tuned.
