Google announced its line-up of Nexus devices on Oct. 29 and now, per reports, the Nexus 4 smartphone and the Nexus 10 tablet will be shipped from Nov. 13.
However, per an Android Police report, for the first time Google will not be making pre-orders available for buyers and a Google PR person confirmed the same to the Web site.
"Orders will begin for both on the 13th, and those orders will start shipping the same day. No pre-orders will be taken," reported Android Police.
Currently, it is not known if the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 will go on sale at midnight or in the morning. It is speculated that the Google Play Store may begin taking early morning orders so that the devices can be shipped the same day.
The NFC-enabled Nexus 4 sports a 4.7-inch WXGA IPS display with 1280 x 768 pixels resolution (320 ppi). It measures 5.28 x 2.72 x 0.36 inches and weighs 4.90oz. A 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon(TM) S4 Pro processor powers the LG-made smartphone. The Nexus 4 has 2GB of RAM and is available with 8GB or 16GB on-board memory, with no option to expand the memory via a microSD card. A 2100mAh battery fuels the device. The Nexus 4 also features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It will come with the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
The Samsung-made Nexus 10 tablet has a 10.05-inch WQXGA display with 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution (300 ppi). Under the hood it has a 1.7GHz dual-core A15 processor, 2GB of RAM, and is available in 16/32GB variants. The tablet has a 9000mAh battery which supports up to 9 hours of video playback and more than 500 hours of standby time. It also features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. The Nexus 10 will also come pre-loaded with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Currently, the Play Store page shows a "Notify me," message, which will alter to "Available" once Google starts accepting orders.
This news could possibly be applicable to not just the U.S. but other countries like Australia, Japan, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Canada where the device is slated for a Nov. 13 release. The Nexus 4's 8GB and 16GB versions (both unlocked) will cost $299 and $349, respectively. The Nexus 10's 16GB and 32GB versions will cost $399 and $499, respectively.
