Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 has been creating waves since its release in October. While the phablet raked in sales of 5 million in just two months, U.S. customers who are on carrier Verizon Wireless were waiting in the wings to get the device.
Verizon is the last of the four major U.S. carriers to release its version of the Galaxy Note 2. Previously, reports have suggested that Verizon would be releasing the smartphone on Nov. 29 and not Nov. 27 as indicated, and now the carrier has established the same.
Verizon confirmed that the Galaxy Note 2 will be available for purchase online and in-store from Nov. 29. Customers who pre-ordered the device would get e-mail notifications of the Galaxy Note 2 being dispatched.
"Just in time for the holidays, the Samsung Galaxy Note II will be available for purchase online and in stores starting tomorrow, Nov. 29. Customers who pre-ordered the Galaxy Note II will receive an e-mail alert when their device has been shipped," stated the Verizon Wireless press release.
Verizon is offering the Galaxy Note 2 in two colors - Marble White or Titanium Gray. Customers can pick up the device for $299.99 with a new two-year customer agreement. Those who wish to buy the Galaxy Note 2 without a contract will have to shell out a whopping $699.99.
Both AT&T and U.S. Cellular are also offering the Galaxy Note 2 (16GB) for $299.99 on a two-year contract and for $649.99 without any contract. T-Mobile is retailing the handset for $369.99 on a two-year contract (after $50 mail-in rebate) and $699.99 without contract.
Even though the branded home button will still be a grouse, Verizon customers will welcome the news of the Galaxy Note 2's release.
