Ubisoft’s ‘Assassin’s Creed 3’ has been one of the most anticipated games of the year and now the company has finally revealed the official set of numbers to uphold that popularity. Per reports, Ubisoft said ‘Assassin’s Creed 3’ has now sold seven million copies.

While the game got an amazing response from critics and fans after it hit the store shelves last month, the sales figures were still unknown. However, now with the company revealing the official numbers, the game can back up every claim it had before its release as to how epic the new ‘Assassin’s Creed’ would be.

Apart from the latest sales figures, the company also released some interesting player statistics based on players actions. The report stated that fans had wasted no time “exploring the game’s open world, and getting involved in the action-packed story.”

In solo missions, alone, “players have accumulated more than 82 centuries of gaming time and committed more than 3 billion assassinations. The deadly action continues in the multiplayer, where more than twice as many players have joined the multiplayer mode compared to Assassin’s Creed Revelations. To date, more than 250 million assassinations have been performed in more than 5 billion multiplayer sessions.”

“The reception for Assassin’s Creed 3 has been exceptional, and this success has positioned the game among the best sellers of the 2012 holiday season” said Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA chief marketing & sales officer, Ubisoft. “We knew we had something special on our hands when Assassin’s Creed 3 was launched, and we’re really excited and proud to see how much fans are enjoying the latest installment in the franchise.”

The news comes just a day after Ubisoft revealed the game’s first downloadable content – Hidden Secrets Pack for players on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The Hidden Secrets DLC Pack added three extra missions, which included the company’s critically acclaimed naval warfare gameplay. The missions are The Lost Mayan Ruins, The Ghost of War, and A Dangerous Secret.

Moreover, it was also stated that players would also receive two single-player costumes – the Captain of the Aquila and the Colonial Assassin, as well as two additional multiplayer characters – the Redcoat and the Sharpshooter.

‘Assassin’s Creed 3’ was released worldwide for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, beginning in North America on Oct. 30, 2012. It was released on Nov.18, 2012 for the Wii U, and on Nov. 20, 2012 for Microsoft Windows.
