Customers who order the iMac by Tuesday, Dec. 18, and select FREE Super Saver Shipping as their delivery method can expect the shipping of the iMac by Dec. 24.

The new generation of iMacs, 21-inch and 27-inch versions, were revealed in Apple's Oct. 23 event where the company revealed the iPad mini and the revamped iPad 4.

The new iMac is just 5mm thick at its edge and Apple claims that the desktop is around 40 percent thinner than the previous iteration. The display of the latest iMac reduces reflection by 75 percent giving an enhanced viewing experience to users. To give a speedy performance to the computer Apple also boosted the device's processor, which is now a quad-core Intel Core i5s.

The 21.5-inch iMac includes an Intel Core i5 quad-core processor clocked at 2.7 Ghz. The processor can be configured to up to 3.2 Ghz using Turbo Boost. The 21.5-inch version is also available with a 2.9 Ghz processor with Intel Core i5, which can be configured to an i7 Ivy-Bridge processor clocked at 3.1 Ghz. The 21.5-inch model has a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution.

The latest iMacs have two Thunderbolt ports and four USB 3.0 ports. The iMac does not include an optical drive. However, users have the option of a Fusion drive, which Apple claims combines a faster Flash Drive with the traditional Hard Drive.

"The Apple Authorized Reseller tells AppleInsider that it's currently shipping out both the 2.7GHz 21.5-inch iMac (MD093LL/A) for$1,299.00 and the 2.9GHz 21.5-inch iMac (MD094LL/A) for $1,499.00. Customers who choose one-day shipping ($3.99 for Prime Members) can get either model delivered by this Tuesday," reported AppleInsider.
