Rockstar is giving a holiday gift to gamers by making available five new screen grabs for its eagerly awaited Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V or GTA 5) title. The images were made available on Rockstar's blog amidst speculations that the game itself won't be available until spring 2013.
OXCGN has leaked an e-mail from Amazon which hints at an ETA of March 27, 2013 for the latest title in the GTA series.
"We now have delivery date(s) for the order you placed on May 12, 2012," reads the e-mail. "Grand Theft Auto V" Estimated arrival date: March 27, 2013."
OXCGN says that the e-mail hints at a March 27 release date, but that is due to the "next day shipping" being attached to the order - in other words, the game will likely hit store shelves a day earlier on March 26.
"This is a Tuesday, which makes sense in the US for a release, and since Rockstar has promised a spring release, this lines up perfectly," says OXCGN. "Factor in how GTA IV came out in April of 2008, and it makes perfect sense."
Meanwhile, those who cannot wait until then, have been gifted a new batch of images of GTA V to whet their appetites. The images can be seen on the Rockstar blog titled, "Happy Holidays - Enjoy."
Rockstar has not confirmed whether the leaked release date is correct. GTA V will debut on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games console.
